[0.0.1] First Playable Prototype!


The first playable prototype has been uploaded! It's not public yet, but I'm looking to get more eyes on the game, so now felt like a good time to upload a build. I've been working on this for a little while (since Nordic Game Jam 2019) and technically I've had earlier versions that were playable, but I gave it an official sounding version (0.0.1) and will send this version to a few friends, so it's the first of something!

There's no tutorialization yet, so the main page has some written instructions. If I left anything out or something doesn't make sense, pls let me know! The game should get progressively harder from depth to depth. From depth 8 onwards it just spawns 1 of 2 "boss" rooms. If you can beat both of them you've basically finished the current prototype. But maybe there's a different strategy you could use?

I have no idea what the long-term plan for this game is yet, but it's starting to feel fun, so I figured it made sense to post some devlogs to see how things are progress along. I still plan to work on the game more (more on that coming later), but here are some questions I'm looking at for this build:

  1. Does it feel good to play? What makes you want to play again or not?
  2. Does it feel like you're making smart, meaningful and "chunky" choices?
  3. Did you come up with any good strategies?
